As many of you know, United Rugby Sports Club has a longstanding and heartfelt relationship with Tanya and Terry Long, and the remarkable work they do through the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust — a charity created in honour of their daughter Mel, who tragically passed away 19 years ago.

Mel’s final wish was both selfless and inspiring. She asked that the remaining funds in her bank account be used to help children and families in need. From this powerful wish, the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust was born — driven by her motto: “Believe and you will Achieve.”

The Trust continues to do extraordinary work, providing support to families and individuals facing significant adversity. We are proud to be connected to such an inspiring organisation.

On Saturday 7th June, we will once again be holding our annual Mellowpuff Day. On this special occasion, all United teams will proudly wear the pink jersey, symbolising our support for Mel’s legacy and the incredible impact of the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust.

There will be a donation bucket in the club rooms post matches. Please donate towards this awesome cause.

Division One vs Inglewood

Not a very long report this week more or less just a report in how proud I am of these boys despite the score despite the challenges we faced leading up to this week which will never tell the whole story on what plays out on the field 

Regardless what the score said or what everyone else thinks you keep those heads up high, keep pushing forward, keep striving for the very best, keep backing yourselves and your teammates because we are still right behind you all! Rest, reflect and look after any niggles that where sustained, we have 3 games left and who knows those could be our 3 games

Premiers vs Inglewood

The boys started slow and once they got going were strong on both sides of the ball with the forwards laying a solid platform for the backs, putting points on the board.

We played some good footy — built pressure and made dominant tackles . It was awesome to see our passing skills hold up under pressure, leading to some quality tries.

In the second half, we allowed early points but put our heads down and got the job done. The standout was our dominant effort on the ball, causing pressure and getting turnovers when the game was hanging in the balance.

Big challenge this week as we take on a Coastal at home. It’s shaping up to be a big week supporting Mellowpuff. We need to stay locked in and build on this win to fight for a top 4 finish.
