Good evening all,
As many of you know, United Rugby Sports Club has a longstanding and heartfelt relationship with Tanya and Terry Long, and the remarkable work they do through the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust — a charity created in honour of their daughter Mel, who tragically passed away 19 years ago tomorrow.
Mel’s final wish was both selfless and inspiring. She asked that the remaining funds in her bank account be used to help children and families in need. From this powerful wish, the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust was born — driven by her motto: “Believe and you will Achieve.”
The Trust continues to do extraordinary work, providing support to families and individuals facing significant adversity. We are proud to be connected to such an inspiring organisation.
On Saturday 7th June, we will once again be holding our annual Mellowpuff Day. On this special occasion, all United teams will proudly wear the pink jersey, symbolising our support for Mel’s legacy and the incredible impact of the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust.
To support the Trust's ongoing work, we are planning a fundraising day dedicated to raising funds and awareness for this meaningful cause. As the Trust relies on the generosity of the community, we are reaching out to ask if your business — or someone you know — would be willing to contribute in any way.
Whether it’s donating a prize for our fundraiser, offering sponsorship, or making a financial contribution, your support would be greatly appreciated.
You can learn more about the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust by visiting mellowpufftrust.co.nz, and if you would like to make a donation or get involved in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact us at: 📧 rugby@unitedsports.co.nz
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Together, we can help make a real difference.
