Division 1
What an epic game! It all started from training, the positivity, the energy, decent numbers, and their spirits were high
This rolled out to game day, the good feelings and vibes, and the smiles etched on the team’s faces, this was going to be a good game!
With extra recruits the night before we had a full squad and an over following bench.
Game time, you could feel the urgency among the team to make this game ours, could feel it was going to be one of those games full of excitement, even though Inglewood got the upper hand on us and secured the first lot of points after 10 minutes into the game, followed by another couple of tries and being converted getting a decent lead of 21-0, until the boys decided not today, and got the ball out to Jasey who kicked it into gear and scored our first try of the day and season cheers erupted from the sideline and the crowd gave them the xtra boost they needed to dig even further!
That wasn’t all that was going to come, after some defence and attack, backing each other and themselves their confidence gained even more, Keanu came through the middle after a pick and go and pushed over the line with our second try and converted by Byron before half time bringing our score even closer to Inglewood, refuelled with sugar and water another pep talk from coaching team and each other reminding them of what is needed and to keep backing themselves
They kicked it up another notch, the intensity soared within them more, wearing their hearts on their sleeves, then Jhai came barrelling through the middle and another try ticked up on the board, and the excitement went next level, they continued to defend the line in some amazing defence and keeping Inglewood at bay with 20 odd minutes to go Inglewood kicked for touch, but Tayne thought otherwise, caught the ball clean put his head down and powered down the sideline dodging a couple defenders with everyone on their feet from the sideline cheering him along with the crowd going wild too in excitement and scored an epic try and Byron converting it levelling our score to 24-24
The last 20 was always going to be a tough one everyone knows it could of gone either way but with their motivation to keep going, they held on to the draw against Inglewood and we couldn’t be anymore prouder of them all for doing the hard mahi and they got their treats!
