Now known as United Rugby & Sports Club (formerly Spotswood United Rugby & Sports Club), we are a relatively new club in Taranaki Rugby scene since the Spotswood United amalgamation in 1990 (after celebrating over 100 years of championship winning teams with Star RFC and Spotswood Old Boys) we are the most proactive, modern and sought after club to be associated with.

We are proud to boast many professional players that have come through our organisation and played at the highest level; Greg Feek, Andrew Hore, Waisake Naholo, Seta Tamanivalu, Warwick Lahmert, Iopo Iopu-Aso and Andre Taylor who have all gone from being proud ‘Lions’ to representing our country as All Blacks, All Black Sevens or New Zealand Maori players. Recent Super Rugby representatives include: Pita-Gus Sowokula, Tei Walden, Waisake Naholo, Charlie Ngati, Seta Tamanivalu, Iopo Iopu-Aso, Mitch Graham, latu Vaeno, Manasa Matele & Toa Halafihi.

Our Taranaki Bulls contingent has been 10 or more players from the past 3 years.

As a club, we are proud of our player’s progress and are active with a fantastic recruitment and events committee, always looking to create enjoyment, upskill and promote our players.
